Dear Anxiety

Dear Anxiety,

We have grown so close one could say we’re friends.

Thank you for always being there.

Thank you for being the impending storm

Ready to rain on my parade.

Thank you for being one of the many demons

Who are trying to drown me in a sea of self doubt

One whose sea levels rise more and more

The older and older I become.

Thank you for being the beast inside

Scratching at my insides

Making you entirely invisible

And making others unaware of my suffering,

Other than the real scars

You have driven myself to do.

Thank you for being the hell in my mind

Making your constant taunts

Hard to ignore

Bringing tears to my eyes.

Thank you for being another bully in my life.

Thank you for never letting me live a day in peace.

Thank you for everything.

Sincerely,

Another tortured soul you cause damage to
