Dear Love

Dear Love,
I know you will come someday
But it's hard to wait for you.
I know I will be happy someday
But it's hard to see that now.

Sometimes I think I find you
But then I know it's not true.
Sometimes I think you're cruel
But then my broken heart heals.

I see you in my parents eyes
When they look at eachother, When they look at me.
I see you in my grandma's eyes
Before she left us to go to heaven.

The books I read portray you
As a bond between people
The movies I see portray you
As an experience that one doesn't go away.

I hope I see you someday
In my children's voices and actions.
I hope I see you someday
In the people in the world.

I want to thank you
For what I've seen you do.
I want to thank you
For bringing families together

I want to thank you
For helping people when they are hopeless
I want to thank you
For the beauty you bring to the world.

In Faith of the things you do,
Caitlynn McGill
