Dear Mother Earth

Dear Mother Earth,

I am sorry for the way we have treated

I am sorry for the garbage we have thrown in your seas

I am sorry for the pollution we have put in your precious air

I am sorry for the beautiful animals we have extincted

I am sorry for all the majestic trees we have demolished in our path to personal success

I like to believe that when the Industrial Revolution began no one saw this coming

I like to believe that our future will be greener

I like to believe that our future will be cleaner

I like to believe that the children of the future, which I guess includes me too, will treat you better

I like to believe that the government will recognize the danger that we are heading towards

I promise to be better at spreading the word of your struggles

I promise to not just recycle but be a conscious consumer of plastics and other dangerous materials

I promise to learn more about your struggles and how to prevent them

I promise to protect all your enamoring animal species

I promise to be a better inhabitant

Sincerely,

Someone Who Hopes You Will Live a Long Life
