Dear Past me
Dear past me,
Your life is one heck of a roller coaster
You are going to feel very hopeless
You are not really ever going to meet your biological dad
But when you get older you won’t care
There will be another man in your life
He starts off amazing and you get a little sliver of hope that you’ll have a dad again
But then he gets angry
He will get angry a lot
But you and your mother will get through all the fights beatings and bruises
You’ll get through all the nights where you had to stay the night at someone else’s house because you and your mother were scared
Your mother is all you have
She stays happy when you’re the brattiest child in the world
She is your shoulder to cry on
She will never leave you
She will never hurt you
You are a spitting image of her
It may not seem like it
But you’d be surprised
She loves you for you
And you will love her back
Till death
She will be everything to you
She is your supporter
She’s the one that showed up to every dance recital, making sure your hair and costume was perfect and you were there on time
You’re going to have really scary times in your life
New Year’s Eve will always bring back memories only she and your best friend of birth will understand
Your mom will be your best friend
Dear past me,
You are going to make stupid decisions in your life
You are going to develop something
Called anxiety and depression
It will suck
But you’ll get through it
Because you are strong, just like your mother
Dear past me,
Sixth grade will come along, and you will meet three amazing people in your life
Ally, Marlyn and Erika
They are your world and they help you so much
Dear past me,
Half way through sixth grade your depression and anxiety will get to you
Like a shark sneaking up on you in the water, ready to drag you down
You will write something to your friends stating that maybe life isn’t worth living
But it is
Don’t do anything
Because if you do there won’t be any more letters from me to you
Dear future me,
Stay strong
Keep working hard
Don’t forget your true friends and family
Yes, maybe some family doesn’t want to see you
Or is too drunk to talk
But you’ll pull through
And hey, keep that acting spark lit
And remember how much your mother and dad love you
Remember to smile
Remember to remember who you are
You are you
And no bully
Family member
Ex friend
Or you
Can say otherwise
Stop looking in the mirror and telling yourself negative things
Love yourself
Signed,
You
