Death of Identity

Location

Inside there's fear and worry here,

Outside laughs, devil may care!

Judgmental thoughts lurk within

So sweet outside, yet hiding sin

Such rotten depression,

such lying despair,

Battles within,

never seen clear,

Hiding portraying,

things not my own,

I claim an identity

creating as I go

Pressure to uphold it

house of falling cards,

Praying I don't make a slip

and let the inside show

Final cry, I watch it burn

tear fall rushes, stomach churns

thrown to the teeth of a hated fate

I so desperately prayed escape

slowly I realize, all have been seen

nobody's hiding anything,

we all have our demons,

their cages all break,

it's not after all such a devilish state
