Deep Blood Red

Red, red, deep blood red.
A drop,
Then a pool,
Then a river of blood.
Life, flowing from one vein.
Once more, a strike to ease the pain.
Black, black, empty black.
A dot,
Then a blur,
Then emptiness galore.
Is this life we live all in vain?
White, white, blinding light.
Back into the world.
All pain
Then pressure
Then a death wish.
That's all this is life has been.
Yet no one takes the time to see
Why my smile seems incomplete.
Instead they laugh loud,
Loud laugh have they.
So I turn to red, red, deep blood red
To chase the pain away.
