I write for myself

For you

For them

To the children who can't help it when

The screaming outside is happening again

And the hunger you feel is ignored as pretend

I write for those with no home

I know how it feels to feel lost and cold

To want protection, comfort

To feel human, and leave all the dirt

No more being high on alert

I write for those who don't have friends

I'm there, I know - you're all alone

And they tell you to wait till you've grown

But you need someone who can relate

Too bad all the vertebrates are deadweight

I write for my myself

Because it really helps

To spread the word and feel heard

And to know someone out there is listening

To fill, inside, what's missing

Because when I'm heard

My past is blurred

And who I am ain't no sham

I will define myself
