To the dictionary,
flawless is an adjective
meaning without blemishes or imperfections.

To the media,
flawless is a noun
like Beyonce or Nicki Minaj,
or just anyone that has such a high amount of beauty that there's no reason not to worship them.

To me,
flawless is a mindset,
a way of thinking,
a way of knowing that nothing (unless it's positive) can change what I think about myself.
A feeling that I get when I make little victories
like getting all my homework done,
or after a hard day of school, making the house clean for my mother to come home to after a long day of work.

Being flawless for me is knowing that I can choose how I look,
and I can be happy with what I do with my appearance.
I'm confident enough in myself that I can show my scared back,
but show off my tattoo that represents a perfect balance within one's self.
I'm confident enough in myself that I can show my discolored and scared legs,
but show off my toned quads and calves.

Being flawless isn't the idea that you don't have blemishes,
or imperfections,
or anything outward that is less than desireable.
Being flawless is that idea that you are sincere in your beliefs,
you only want what is best for yourself, and for others around you.
Because the true definition of flawless for me is
complete and utter happiness.

And the fact that I'm finally getting to taste that after so long,
after having to learn how to look past my mirror, and into my ideas,
my flawlessness,
my happiness,
is oh so sweet to me.
