Things like this don’t go away
The sadness builds as you try to be strong
Some days you can’t even get out of bed
You don’t tell the ones you love
If you do they get mad
Like it’s your fault you’re sad
Like you can’t just appreciate what you have
Like you want to be this sad
So you hold it in
And it builds
And it builds
Until one day you go numb
And this, this is worst then the sadness
Because at least when you were sad you still felt
Now you would give anything to feel
To be able to know you’re alive
The cuts work for a while
But it’s not enough
Some days you lie down on the ground pretending to be dead
Trying to forget what it would mean to you to be alive
