Desiring

Remember yesterday, when I told you

When I told you I laid

Laid on the concrete floor

In fetus position reaching for my heart

My heart pounding as honks invaded my ears

My ears were concentrated with the voices in my head

My head ponding with frustration for another breath

Its alright, they left me alone

They leave me alone

Their screams do not penetrate me.

I laid.

I’ve felt the cold concrete floor on my face before.

Before it felt reassuring

Reassuring because they would go in reverse but I can’t

I can’t because I choose to move forward.

Maybe we can lay on the cold pavement floor

Let our hearts beat rapidly

You will understand how therapeutic it can be.
