The Desperation to Feel

Location

Why does one feel?

Sometimes, a person doesn’t.

A robotic life filled with no amusement,

no anger, and no love.

I am,

or should I say was,

that person.

Without feeling,

hurt is impossible.

However,

without feeling there is no happiness.

The cure,

however,

is time.

For a heart that was once closed

can soon again become opened.

I will not hide behind the mask that once shielded

my anger, my anguish, my happiness.

For at this moment,

I am feeling things

that once seemed impossible.

Feelings of

hope,

desire,

and love.

Feelings that I wish will never leave me.
