Before I was a bright star I was a meteor

  Floating

           Floating

Through an endless dark home.

I was surrounded by silence,

Not knowing there was a way out

Freedom and happiness was drowned out by the darkness of the sky

My life seemed to only get longer.

Then one day I was pulled towards a purple swirling hole

Soon I was sucked down into a bright light.

My heart said no,

but my eyes said yes

They longed for a shine and perfection.

I started being pushed and pulled,

I struggled to keep all that was left of me

to-ge-ther.

My body lashed about,

Not controlling what was left of me.

I collapsed under pressure,

Not finding a path.

Then I changed,

I had started glowing.

My soul cleansed and my body pieced all together,

Yet it was different,

I was a shining star for the whole world to see.

Then I realized

That you have to shine while you can,

Shine for the whole world to see.

To get to your next destination,

you have to travel through the darkness.
