Did You Ever Think

Location

Did you ever think

The young girl with the brace face

Or the boy who was afraid to come out

Or the teenage mom who to her family was only a disgrace

Would be living on the brink

Of a never-ending sleep?

Did you ever think

Before you bullied

Tortured

Harassed

Scarred

Terrorized them.

Did you ever think

Maybe, just maybe

They needed a friend.

Did you ever think

They would never live to see another sunrise?

Did you ever think

Of the family

Left behind

Damaged

Broken down

Empty.

Did you ever think

Of the casket

The black occasion

The funeral

The tears.

Did you ever think

There was another way

You didn’t need to bully

Torture

Harass

Scar

Terrorize them.

They could’ve lived to see another day

And yet you condemn

With an unrighteous hand.

Did you ever think

Of their future

Their dreams

Their hopes

Their lives.

Of course you didn’t.

You didn’t think.

You were living in the moment

To be higher

Stronger

Better than them.

You didn’t think.

Now you have the chance to think.

Think of the torture

The family

The dreams

The future.

Think of life. Their life. Your life.

Change and rethink

Their struggles, their strife

Change

Consider

Improve

Save their life.

For the love of God, THINK.
