Dirt Bound Dreams

You gave me everything

And told me to reach for what I believe

What a shock to you

endless blue skies I have dirt bound dreams

down here

I have hateful frail air to breathe

But my words aren’t frail

Though they may tread in places reserved only for feet

Because down here

Where others fail to see

Is an entire village

Living beneath privileged feet

And they can here my words

They know

And I welcome the day

They can leave me down here-and go
