Distance

Location

I know no man before or after me

Could pen a word, my pining to convey.

Thus when you find yourself again with me,

Our rejoining will mark a splendid day.

The earth at night could never crave the sun,

Nor could the desert ever yearn for rain.

The way I wish our distance be undone;

The way I wish the miles would melt away

But now it seems we’ll always be apart.

It seems that seeing you is out of sight.

Your absence leaves a hole inside my heart.

Not being with you brings a dreary night.

As long as mountains stand and rivers flow,

You’ll be here in my heart, my heart to know.
