Divorced lovers

Location

I fell in love with a Spanish boy today,

his hair, tossled

and his eyes, like green emeralds,

shone like immaculate beams of light

A tender love as ours,

my heart grew swollen and bitter

as my reflection grew small in his mirror eyes

I saw myself drift into the abyss of memories

and I am no longer real

I am a fiction in the mind of my lover,

a distant dream

and still, I remember the gleam in his eyes

they shone light emeralds in the desert sky

I remember as I kissed him good-bye.
