Do I Dare Risk?

Location

Do I dare risk

Stepping into the unknown?

With warm spring air and flowers

To guide me home,

Or a dark winter’s night

That makes my soul cower?

Will the warmth be there one day

And then the next, not?

Will it burn like the summer sun

Or is there the shade of one beside me?

A blanket of loving arms

Or a wolf to devour me in my sleep?

If the warmth leaves,

Will it come back

And find me whole

Or an empty shell?

Do I dare risk

Stepping into the unknown?

Eventually.

Maybe.
