Don't Forget Me Just Yet

How can we go from being good friends,

To familiar strangers when the summer ends?

Did I make that type of friend,

That is my buddy until the school day ends?

I know that's not what you intend.

I want you back, I keep missing you again and again.

We were thick as thieves, through infamy and fame.

Now in a phase where you forget my name.

I miss how we would laugh together.

How we could go from deep conversation, to subjects light as a feather.

How I wouldn't feel so alone around you, never.

How whenever I got mad you'd make me feel better.

I don't want awkward tension, like we just met.

So please don't forget me just yet.
