Don't Get Too Comfortable

no matter where I go

a part of me always feels so alone

Something always tells me

don't get too comfortable

then they will see

they will see the shame

the guilt of fame

how you don't own your name

Something always pleads with me

don't get too comfortable

then they will notice

they will notice the insecurity

the need of purity

how you don't have a sense of security

Something always screams at me

don't get too comfortable

then they will hear

they will hear the mumbling

the way your voice keeps fumbling

how you don't speak without crumbling

it is my greatest fear

when they see, they notice, they hear

because when I get too comfortable

I become vulnerable

but you make that Something hard to listen to

so I'll be too comfortable with you

now no matter where I go

with you, that part of me isn't so alone
