Don't Just Stand There, Do Something!

Location

An old man watches,

A baby cries,

But neither one,

Will meet my eyes.

An enemy laughs,

And old friends greet,

But I just carry on,

Staring down at my feet.

My mother worries,

The knowing sigh,

But will either stop me?

No, they'll just know why.

At the edge,

As cars drive by,

I take one last step,

One final dive.

If only, if only,

I had received a smile,

Maybe I would've stayed,

For a little while.
