Dream of Dance

The dancer stands on the stage unmoving

Eyes watched him with intense stares silently

Music starts to play, volume improving

Beating, he feels his heart race violently

One foot in front of the other they lift

Leaping and turning the nerves fell away

Like the song, each move is graceful and swift

One with the song now, he started to sway

No person in the audience speaking

Under the lights, energy advancing

The song slows, a new beat he starts seeking

Slower now, like a flame he is dancing

At last the show is over, clapping ensues

A young child awakes. This new dream they pursue

Guide that inspired this poem:

This is amazing! So happy you wrote about a male dancer
