Dreaming Eyes

The beat of rain on the land

Broken teardrop in my hand

Shattered remains upon the ground,

My beating heart the only sound

A twisted tale carved in stone

Stories remembered as voices drone

Heart of ice, frozen in time

Far away, bells begin to chime

The wind carries voices on every breeze

Whispers sway with the trees

Cries and sobs drown each bell

Promises kept that no one shall tell

A tear cast aside came to you

Reflecting anger, making lies turn true

A tear that fell but went unshed

An unseen symbol, based on dread

Wash away the lonesome night

Feel the hope of another day

Glass remains of a shattered heart

Sewn together yet torn apart

One broken tear, the remains of a love

Love so true and filled with joy

Heart of ice turned to stone

The silent voices start to drone

They tell these tales as though the end

Part of their life until they send

Each tale to lay before shattered truths

Glittering shards of diamond eyes

As each day wears on,

The last shreds of hope are long gone

Except in the fields of glass, of diamond lies

Unseen by all except dreaming eyes
