It's plain here. Nothing but gray
You shine so bright, like you're on display.

Sparkle and gleam among the dull.
You stand out. You must be bold.

Look around. They're staring at you.
They're criticizing, judging, watching what you'll do.

You start to see, the difference between
The dull gray and the shine you gleam.

It's time to fit in. You're too different here.
You want to rebel, but still you fear.

They all surround you. Engulfing you with gray.
You begin to be molded, nailed into place.

At last your beautiful shine begins to fade.
And die and wither into a dull gray shade.
