Of Dust and Stone

Coat of warmth
Heart of dust
Take off your coat
for one man's lust.
Foolish girl--so in love
So full of misguided trust.

Abused soul, don't you know?
Demons are stained white
by angels' soft snow.
All things evil come out to play,
once nighttime conquers the day.

Incomplete girl, with a broken heart
I'll lend you mine--if only in part.
For once upon a time, I was told
that yours lies as if though
it were dust beneath bone.

'Though your gargoyle prince
was born with innocence,
he has grown hard and rough,
and unsettles your dust.
He possesses his own
breaking heart of stone.
