Dust to dust and foe to friend

When spring comes, after the spring before The trees having taken their turns about the myriad of colors When the nipping cold has left you tranquil and longing When broken hearted seek new lovers Then radiance grows from one thing to another Never stopping one place for long You'll see me there, dancing among the trees Singing one of my long lost songs There are days when you'll remember my smile And others you'll remember the sickness Make those new spring days the ones to remember How the old me was somewhat their likeness Make the blue heavens my eyes And stare back with intent Make the red beams of sunlight my hair Let the sunshine make it glint Don't recall the moments my weakness showed or the days I couldn't stand Don't remember the illness that ransacked my body Or the moment my loveliness waned. Reminisce my laugh Or what you still hear What still reverberates In your mental ear Watch me dance in your memories In sweet, sudden rays of sun enjoy those tender moments fondling your love And keep close that hope I'll see you again When dust comes to dust and foe turns to friend The last breath that shook my lungs Like a power plant loosing steam The chemicals pacing through each vein Every last blood stream Those last precious moments You held my hand I begged my heart Don't stop, that's a command My veins went cold Then a burst of light Like a lightning strike Burning deep in the night Come home daughter I'll heal all your wounds Then I let go of your hand And home I flew That's why I say remember me It won't be too long Just wait under the moonbeams And raise up your palms Praise the Lord like you used to Don't let my passing cripple you For I would have kept dancing Like you know I continue to
