Easter

“Why should I do this for them Dad?

I’ve never done anything bad.

I cured their maladies and drove their demons out.

I performed miracles and taught them about

You. What do they have against me?

How can they repay me so cruelly?”

“I know it’s unfair Son,

But this battle has to be won.

Rescuing them comes at a steep price.

They will be saved through your sacrifice.

I know it’s a rough way to go,

But this is my way to show

My love for them has no end.

It hurts me so much to send

You to hang on that tree,

But I need you to do this for me.”

“Ok, I’ll do it. I’m ready.

They don’t deserve it. They aren’t worthy,

But I’m ready to take their place

And show them your mercy and grace.”

“¡Un dale! Let’s do this thing. Let’s begin this quest;

Cast their sins as far as the east is from the west.

Let them know I will be forgiving,

That the old is gone, and they can start living.

I’ll see you in three days.

Now go. Do not delay.”

“Alright. I will obey.

I know you’ll stay

With me the whole way.

I’m trusting in what you say.

All of them are so lost.

Now I’ll go to the cross

So they can be close

To you.”

           “¡Adios!”
