Empathy against Despair

Tue, 01/28/2014 - 23:01 -- Ijeoma

Her gentle polished guise reflected the nature of goodness,

Always walking towards progress, but through a process.

That welcoming smile tainted by the infrequent thought of desertion,

but none the less, nothing would discontinue her notion of hope.

Filling a room with friendly greetings forever striving to make

her peers understand positivity in its purposeful value.

Her heart soft as due, holding love and pouring out love,

evoked her enchanted emotion towards humanity.

Though the ideal intention to console as to be consoled

Was the preeminence of each encounter in its entirety,

Those almond eyes alluded a sense of abandonment.

Lost, and reclusive like lingering trails of dust

Were the weary feelings which caused her

To never tell the reason why this intuition was so.

Her arms so graceful and generous but still able to take control,

Sometimes shied her away,

Hiding from any remains of rejection.

Outspokenness would always outshine over this dark place

For the center of her happiness held

Completion through the hearts of those who were touched

Though behind closed doors she fought visions of being discarded.

She persevered to break the chains that had held her back so much.

And like that was the start of the better side, which would slowly be flaunted.
