Enthralled

A dark clear sky is all you see.
You seemed satisfied;
living but not really alive.

But a shooting star came along
and time stopped.
Captivated and awe-struck,
You caught a glimpse of what life could be.

And in turn, the star was enthralled-
the prettiest blue eyes,
always filled with mischief,
and an aura that was full of mystery.

You who thought that you were plain,
Unable to love or be loved,
has captured the heart of the shining star.

Even through all the darkness,
amidst the negativity,
she saw your gentle heart within.
