Epiphany of the Blatant
A lot of my life has changed this last year,
I faced many days of joy and of strife.
Yet as time wore on, one truth became clear:
Art is what fosters the meaning of life.
My fight with depression taught me to grow.
I sought solace in writing plays and prose;
I took what I had and wrote with my woe.
From pain stems beauty, from thorns stem a rose.
I found vibrance in the hues of Renoir;
And peace within the lilies of Monet.
Though there’s beauty is all things as they are,
I’m glad artists limn them in a new way.
For all those who say the world needs more heart,
You’re missing the beauty captured by art.
