Everything and Nothing

Simple rhythms and simple rhymes is that all I’m meant to give to you who deserves all the tears that I have never shed? To them across this world of ours who I’m sure deserve the same it’s taken time to find these words my thoughts no regular train Years of dysfunction, disjunction the cause Humanity a complexity, layers of shadows on a wall And only since I’ve come to find A mere silhouette of truth, human secrets engraved and blood stained among charity and symbols of youth, I’ve had questions that can never be answered feelings unevenly stirred in me mere words unfit to derive such meaning these emotions not meant to be described by such an inferior invention, language and all its intentions good, but cannot remain As pure as the heart’s initial gain Life’s in death Warmth’s in rain Some used to standing storms of snow Some used to standing years of pain Wealth’s in knowledge, Heart’s in song Some speak in circles to avoid the truth Some refuse to accept what they do is wrong An artist stumbles when cut by the knees Did you know this obstacle? Was your world the seed? So many questions of why many forget that life here is more than a mere percent numbers a luxury advantage smiles on waste a friend, words a pawn Words used as weapons Gold hidden beneath plastic pearls Like a fool who sees only what they wish, Alone I feel the weight of the world No word, no picture could paint me this arrow A force of wind invisible and narrow (cont.) Piercing a sting through a thick night air A direction I crave for an emptiness draining Wondering in the darkness, the lantern burning my hair For no good thing should be taken too much of And no flying bird’s wing can soar without hollow bones and a dream for much more Simple thoughts and simple schemes is that all they have to give to us, the passionate to us, the massive? What we seek is everything, but nothing to them What they seek is synthetic, artificial, tame While the world is everything and nothing with a name I am inspired I am discouraged I am calmed I am enraged Is there equilibrium here? For me? For you? Have you felt this? Do you know? Can simple rhythms and simple rhymes serve as some cure? Some difference? A guide? Time must tell Change must reside
