Except it's monday

After breakfast

fetal like twisted in your bed

seven blankets that hug my neck

your mother talks loudly on the phone

as you take away my breakfast plate,

i’m reminded this is not my home

i hear dishes clash from your kitchen

and the smell of sunday overpowers your room

except it’s monday

you sip hot coffee, pink robe, apologizing for last nights sleep
