"Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain."

Easy said and easy done.

Anxiety hides my personality in the clouds away from the sun.

The mask shields me from danger.

Away from the glaring eyes of strangers

That will never understand a word I say

Because I stutter and sputter

Words that I do not mean to speak.

Internally full of wonder,

But mind clouded with thunder

Too loud for me to think properly.

I have many things to say

But keep quiet because

Perhaps

My thoughts are not important.

Help me escape the brick wall

Blocking me from being who I really am.

I cannot be afraid to fall

Because I will land

And pick myself up.

I cannot let my internal thunder deafen me.

I must be the external thunder

Deafening others

With my thoughts full of wonder

That no one has bothered asking to hear.
