The Façade of Myself

Location

In a building

a curtain is placed

to cover up what is broken.

Sometimes it covers

what is yet to come.

With myself,

a filter is used

to cover up imperfections

sometimes it covers

the things that make me beautiful.

Nothing is perfect,

but everyone is beautiful.

In a building,

the wind whooshes through,

echoing in the empty halls.

The wind also

emphasizes the sound of the lonely.

With myself,

with nothing to block my words,

I can cause sunshine to make the flowers bloom,

other times,

the rain will come.

But rain also

helps the flowers grow.

In a building,

people point out

that the structure is incomplete.

They discuss

what the structure may become.

With myself,

I point out,

that my being is incomplete.

I decide

who I will become.

The rest of the world,

cannot influence our decisions.

My filter to the world

blocks the things I don't accept

and the things I don't want to hear.

But even the strongest filters,

can still be broken.

Without my facade,

I am simply myself

the girl who wants

to make the change

to become something greater.

Behind the façade a girl shines

waiting for the world to notice.
