Face Value

Sun, 10/05/2014 - 17:32 -- Brennan

We are the storied questers,

Introducing ourselves with tattered names and all the jokes we know.

We build our suspecting images of each other,

Decide which characters we are, and what our role is

Oblivious to all the pictures

All the museums

All the proms

All the bedrooms,

And backyards, and summer friendships, and nights of despair, and music and stargazing and girl scouts and speed dating and tear-jerking novels and great-uncles and perms and online forums and prayer nights and insecurities and broken arms and lost ambitions

That brought us here to mingle awkwardly together today.

Let’s talk.
