Fallen Man

Because we’re lead by sin to turn away,

since Eve caused all Creation’s oust from God,

refusing fate, our master’s face, His rod,

I ask who cursed first... Maker? Baited Stray?

If God assures we’re “wonderfully made”,

If God can’t ever lie or uphold facades,

If God is righteous-just-despite all odds,

Would children bear the blame for His mistakes?

If Jesus set the standard way to walk,

Yet failure lives within my broken steps

And wand'ring eyes don’t catch the trail he blazed,

To floors of mourning full of waste, regrets...

And doors without their keys, sitting unlocked,

the gaze of hopeful eyes will slowly cascade
