Fallen Soldier's Memorial

Weary but ready

John Doe is still steady.

With his boot propped over its twin

Doe just stopped after a win.

Wrapped in cloak,

Doe will never again croak,

Though strained veins attest to his best.

His netted helmet,

Wetted with rain, met

A tired ankle

Still rankled at its consumed user.

An untold tale which

Regales itself in veiling

The entailed male from sight,

Forever weary but ready.

My country
