Fear of The future

I fear a life full of resentment and regret

A world that our ancestors would shame

MLK taught us to never forget

Our African descent, Our African name

How do I work to overcome this fear

By remembering my ancestors' toil and pain

By remembering the endless drop of tears

And living a life that's not in vain

To you, I write this message full of peace

A dream of a new world without revenge

Full of opportunity and hatred ceased

Lock the door and forever left unhinged

Justice falls like snowflakes in winter's sky

Forgiveness like second nature to man

A necessity for peace that you can’t buy

Love permanent and never wastes in sand

A community full of possibilities

Nothing to limit the mind but the mind

Come on, we can rewrite the history

And doing so reverse the sands of time

Yes I claim the future yearns to be bright

Cause every man hold his own boundless light
