Fields of Green

Mine, in my mind

I tend to them

Labor of love and ambition

No one sees my work

No one cares

All but me just seem to forever gaze on; simply stare

Worried about tomorrow

But I worry about today

Because these fields of green may not be here to stay

Without hope

Without love

Without me

The gentle sun beaming down

And I am the only one  that waters

But they shout now at me

They blame me

For the mistakes they made as their pasture turns rots

But my small patch of green

Stands

My field, now our field, will one day be large fields of green once more
