To Find A Hero

Superheroes aren’t real, but villains are.

Supervillains steal, murder, destroy

Evil is fun for them, they enjoy the rush

Mentally insane and they accept it

Normal villains bully, abandon, neglect

Judge you and leave you and break you

Who can you trust besides yourself?

Nobody looks, nobody sees, nobody cares

They hate the scars that never healed,

Try to hide them away from the light

And in the dark, everything looks perfect

They seem perfect, and you are perfect

Until one person looks

And one person sees and understands

And one person tries to crack you open

And there’s just one question

Let them in or keep them out?

Take a risk or stay where it’s safe?

Who knows if you’ll get hurt?

Only one way to find out

Will they be your hero?

Or will you fade into the distance alone?

If they accept you, see you

Can they realize who you really are?

Remember, superheroes aren’t real.

But normal heroes just might be.
