Flaming Love

I once had a love

That was a wildfire.

It was passionate,

And engulfing.

But ultimately,

Consuming.

But now,

I have a love

That is slow-burning embers,

With sparks of intimacy and understanding.

The second, of the two,

Will always last longer.

But why do I miss the first?

This poem is about:
Me
