Flawless Kinks

My hair and I were unhappy

Waking up with broken hairstrands got old

I wanted my hair to be straight

I wanted it to be soft with shine like gold

My hair and I were unhappy

That was just 2 years ago

The hair grew with kinks and jolts

Straight strands struggled to stay alive

Scissors were happy with the curls that emerged

It was time to cut tithes

With the chemicals and burns that made society happy

I love myself and the hair that was created

Before the teases and taunts

Before I chose to cremate it

I'm proud of the vision i see

And the flawless kinks I was born with

To have hair textured like wool

My hair and I are finally happy, because the world said it never could.
