Flight

My breath escapes my chest as that engine roars

The world I leave behind and its problems ignored

The living air pulls me into its embrace

My heart leaves this world as if in a chase

Your beautiful wings beckon to me

As I climb higher to see

The clouds resting at my feet

I never want to leave this seat

My thoughts dissipate as I fly

My heart belongs to the sky

I am completely in love with aviation and this poem provides small insight of the joy I receive from flight.
