To The Flower Child

Flower child:

child of a flower child

and you've let your thorns grow wild

and I want to know why

Flower child,

was it something that I said?

Know that I wish I were dead

- what can I say?

Broken promises lie shattered on the ground

like empty mirror shards, reminding of

the way things could have gone

Hidden underneath the shadow of your life

Should I be happy now, now that you think

you have seen the light?

Flower child,

how did we become so lost?

Our footprints melted in the frost

when the summer came, and now

it's never the same.

Flower child,

I don't know how to bridge this gap

between you and I

and if you think this is the end

I will say goodbye,

from me, your friend,

goodbye.
