A Flower for a Day

Her silky, white petals unfasten
With the first smile of dawn.
She sways with such elegance
As the breeze whispers in her ear.
Her long, vibrant body shifts
With the day as it ascends to heaven. As the night rises from hell,
Her tall, dull figure pivots with it.
As the wind torments her mind,
She is blown with such violence.
And with the last smirk of dusk,
Her smooth, pallid petals seal.
