Forever a Hero

Forever a Hero,
you are to me.
You went through my heart,
making me thinking twice about who I really am.

Promoting strength,
which you found deep inside yourself,
past the horrid diagnosis,
which made you stronger.

You were the real hero,
no matter what people say.
Always staying on the bright side,
hoping you'll come out okay.

Sadly you lost your battle,
it struck me real bad.
I cannot wrap my head around it,
a world without that personality you had.

Why did this happen?
Why couldn't it be stopped?
Why did you have to leave?
I guess some questions cannot be answered.

You always said that
you dreamed of the future.
One not in the shadow of cancer,
but in the light.

Forever a Hero,
is what you are to the world
In Heaven or on T.V,
You're still a hero to me.
