Forgive Me Father

Forgive me father for I have sinned

I let an earthly man take your place in my heart

He engulfed me in cotton sheets right from the start

Forgive me father for I have sinned

I've begun to question your commands

I kept reaching for his kiss and the whiskey in his hands

Forgive me father for I have sinned

My memories are hazy and far

The last time I yelled your name was in the back seat of his car

Forgive me father for I have sinned

I've never wanted anything like him before

The way he whispers in my ear, his hot breath... He leaves me begging for more

Forgive me father for I have sinned

My love for him has surpassed my love for you

I can't tell you how much I wish it weren't true

Forgive me father...
