The Forgotten Ones

The dog sits in his cage,

Hoping for love.

His eyes search for a human

Who thinks he's enough.

The dog walks into the ring

Snarling abounds

The dog knows tonight

He may be brought down.

The dog lays in a corner

In her hour of need

No one will touch her

She's bred only to breed.

But in some safe havens

People have taken a loving stance

When treated with love and compassion

Animals get a second chance.

So won't you please donate or adopt?

The bond will never fail

For loving an animal is a beautiful thing

When you see the wagging tail.
