Why are we called only smart

When we excel in Math or Language Arts

Great athletes who struggle in these fields

Are called dumb, despite their amazing yields

Why do educators follow the same drills

Refusing to dig deeper for hidden skills

Talents of imagination, creativity and innovation

Are repressed, ignored - a true loss for the nation

Other intelligences, to logic and speech, exist

That should be recognized and not dismissed

Specific intelligences are taught in school and college

Generic testing is used to measure knowledge

Imagine the possibilities for all young minds

Who could be discovered and recognized  

If all nine intelligences were explored

Limitless opportunities would be restored

Diversity in in everything is the key

To success and youth’s self esteem

It’s time for schools to get it done

And claim all the Forgotten Ones
