Free.

If you are on this Earth,

you are free.

You.

Yourself,

with your own

thoughts,

beliefs,

loves,

pet peeves.

Sometimes,

we get caught up

in the people around us.

The hustle,

the bustle,

the rustle.

We try to act more like her,

look more like her,

attract more people like him,

and we keep aiming to be

something

we're not.

Not realizing that

we are

free

to be absolutely anyone and anything,

and if we are going to be anyone-

why not be ourselves?

and if we're going to be anyone-

why not be an original?

Why copy someone else?

Don't underestimate yourself.

don't underestimate the things

you are capable

of.

If you want to be legendary,

be a legend.

Live this life

like you are not going to get another one.

You only have one.

Embrace it.

Do not settle at being comfortable.

Instead,

attack and destroy

every. single. wall.

hinge.

knob.

barrier.

that's keeping you in your

"comfort zone."

There's a world around us.

There's a God.

There are lost, broken people.

There are beautiful things.

And you can do

whatever you want.
Whether it's right or wrong,
your choice.

Free.

Make mistakes.

Don't let

the possibility of failure

keep you from chasing

what you really want.

Love

and make it a verb.

Leave the things

that keep you small.

Dream,

then do.

Adventure.

Take risks.

And when you're stressed,

depressed,

frustrated,

when you feel as if

you can't take another step in this life.

Pause.

Remember,

that as tough as it is

right now;

there are much better things

in your future.

Better

than you could ever imagine.

Just remember,

because you're free.

Completely and absolutely

free.

Also, a slightly different version of this poem is featured on my blog in the link below, if you'd like to check it out! http://www.wonderfullysewn.com/2014/01/free.html
