Free to Fly

My past no longer haunts
Death has lost its sting
Pain can now be ignored
No hate lives in my heart
It is not because the pain has gone
Suffering is my constant companion
But I have turned a brand new leaf
My life has a new goal in mind
Happiness for not only myself
For the world, for all as well
I want to make the world free
Spread my wings to feed the hungry
Fly high to make rich the poor
Soar above to give the sad a smile
If only I could save them all
I wish to carry the tired
Give water to the thirsty
Treat others as I want to be treated
All in all, the world stands waiting
Waiting for help to fly free
And even in the midst of darkness
Somehow, I am happy
